Associate Pastor, Minister of Music and Worship
I want to extend a warm welcome to you to come and be a part of the music ministry here at FBCS! God continues to send many tremendously talented people to this church. I pray that never ends! I am so excited to be here and join in what God is doing right here on Ziglar Road.
My educational background is from Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina with Bachelor of Church Music degree, and I hold a Master of Church Music degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
After my formal studies, I began my full-time ministry in September 1984 at Southside Baptist Church Winston Salem, North Carolina. It was there I met Donna Stafford, and I was ordained to the gospel ministry while there. We were married and stayed until 1989. The Lord soon called us to Rocky Mount, NC to Englewood Baptist Church 1989-1997. Next, we served at Denver Baptist Church in Denver, NC 1997-2007. Then God said it was time to move to Stanleyville and be a part of you wonderful folks. As of July 1, 2022, I will be celebrating 15 years of ministry here at FBCS. My precious Donna went into the immediate presence of the Lord April 30, 2019 after a long illness.
I'm always looking forward to all of the wonderful blessings God has in store for us here at First Baptist Church Stanleyville.
The key verses I claim in the music ministry is Colossians 3:16 & 17 KJV which says: Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom… teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual songs singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.
These verses reveal my heart’s desire for everyone involved in the music ministry. There is certainly room for you! Let’s praise the Lord together in the choir, and in every group in the music ministry. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do through each of us!
