REV. DR. VIRGIL G. DWYER, JR.

Rev. Dr. Virgil G. Dwyer, Jr. serves as the Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church Stanleyville. Virgil holds a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C., with a specialization in Christian Leadership, a Master of Divinity in Leadership, and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University, in Lynchburg, VA. Virgil is also an Alumni of the Tar Heel Leadership Network. He is a veteran of the United States Army, serving in various leadership roles throughout his 22-year career. Virgil is married to Shannon Marie and together they have four children, Trey, Michael, Kayley, and Kenzy. Virgil and Shannon have homeschooled their children for the past 15 years. He is passionate about church health and revitalization to impact the Kingdom of God through the visible presence and actions of the body of Christ. Virgil’s life verse is Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.”
