DR. KENNETH LANCE
Transitional Pastor
Dr. Kenneth Lance is our Transitional Pastor. A native of Hendersonville, NC. His walk with Christ began at the tender age of 9 through Vacation Bible School. He was called into the ministry when he was sixteen years old and was ordained by the Etowah Baptist Church in 1982. A graduate of Wingate College (BA), Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv) and Erskine Theological Seminary (DMin), he was in full-time pastoral ministry since 1985.
He served churches in Harmony, NC and Heath Springs and Greenville, SC. For seventeen years, he served at First Baptist Church Salisbury and retired there in 2019 in order to follow God’s call to serve local churches as a Transitional Pastor. His ministry is to help the church during seasons of pastoral transitions to retain their ministry focus and prepare them for the next chapter God has written for them. He has served churches in Mocksville, NC and King, NC. He has been the Transitional Pastor for FBC-Stanleyville since February 2022. He is married to Kim, a retired Marriage and Family Therapist, and has two adult sons.
